The ProCepT Granulator is used for wet or melt high shear granulation and pelletisation. Depending on vessel size, the typical batch range varies from 15g to 1kg of product. The granulator is used to create wet agglomerates by high shear wet mixing of different powders. The atomized nozzle sprays the solvent with binder or active on the powder vortex, created by the impeller and chopper.
The wet granulation process is one of the most common ways to granulate. A liquid solution/suspension is added to a mix of dry powders to form an agglomerated more dense mass, ultimately resulting in the formation of free flowable granules or pellets.
Melt agglomeration is a process by which the solid fine particles are bound together into agglomerates, by agitation, kneading and layering, in the presence of a molten binding liquid. Dry agglomerates are obtained as the molten binding liquid solidifies by cooling.
