Description
An 18 Watt green diode laser (V18) pumps the 800nm pulsed Mira 900 Ti:sapphire laser (see below) which itself then emits ~ 2.5 W average power. The Optical Parametric Oscillator (OPO) is in turn pumped by 1.3 Watts of this power and gives out ~ 200 mW of tunable radiation from 1100 nm to 1600 nm. The OPO system is then used to excite and detect freespace THz radiation for spectroscopy from novel materials operating at communications wavelengths.
